Item / Campaign Filter-Status Reference¶
The filter-status response describes an item's selection and filter results within a campaign, including results for individual screens (called boards in the response).
Use this guide to distinguish campaign membership from filter eligibility. An item being selected for a campaign does not guarantee that it will run.
This status appears on the FILTER STATUS tab of of the triggers/filters dialog and is calculated as the result of the selections made for datetime filters as well as everything documented in the Filter Builder Reference
Reading the response¶
- Check
export_has_item. If it isfalse, the item has been de-selected (removed) from the campaign and will not run, regardless of its other filter results. - Check
filter_can_run_for_export. A value oftruemeans the item passed the filter for at least one screen in the campaign, not every screen. - Inspect
boards.datafor each screen'sboard_filter_passesresult and its diagnostic reasons. - Distinguish filter results from the selection algorithm:
export_weightis the item's relative weight among the campaign's items and is used by that algorithm. It is not a guarantee that an item will run.
For live per-screen status, check running. This reports whether the item is currently running on that screen, whereas board_filter_passes reports the result of evaluating the filter right now. These values can differ during transition periods.

Campaign selection and filter summary¶
These keys are inside item_filter_status.

Per-screen results¶
Each object in item_filter_status.boards.data describes one screen.

Filter reason entries¶
The example's board_filter_skip_reasons and board_filter_pass_reason arrays contain diagnostic objects. Some describe individual conditions (entry_type: "filter"); others describe logical groups (entry_type: "group"). Not every entry includes every key.

Interpreting the example¶
The example item is selected for the campaign (export_has_item: true) and passes the filter for at least one screen (filter_can_run_for_export: true). Its creative state is COMPLETE and its item status is ACTIVE.
The first screen nevertheless has board_filter_passes: false. Its weather conditions pass, but other conditions and enclosing logical groups fail. The passing weather reasons do not override the failed overall board-filter result.
This illustrates why campaign-level eligibility and individual passing conditions must not be treated as proof that an item will run on a particular screen.
