Data Source Monitoring¶
Overview¶
Lucit has internal monitoring systems in place to track data source health across the platform. At the operator and advertiser level, Lucit provides real-time visibility into every connected data source so you can see exactly what data is flowing into your account and when it was last updated.
What Operators and Advertisers Can View¶
All data sources connected to your account are visible under Apps & Data. For each data source:
| What You Can See | Where |
|---|---|
| Current status and last sync time | Apps & Data → {App} → DATA tab |
| All data currently in the feed | Apps & Data → {App} → DATA tab |
| Feed configuration and schedule | Apps & Data → {App} → SETTINGS tab |
| Templates attached to this data source | Apps & Data → {App} → TEMPLATES tab |
If a feed has stopped updating, you will see stale timestamps on the data records. You can compare the "last updated" times against the configured refresh schedule to determine if a feed is running behind.
Internal Monitoring and Alerts¶
Lucit's internal systems monitor data source availability and feed reliability across the platform. When a persistent feed issue is detected:
- Lucit internal staff are alerted and work to investigate and resolve the issue
- For user-configured data sources (e.g., a Google Sheets connection with incorrect permissions), resolution may require the operator or advertiser to update their configuration
Automated alerts are not sent directly to operator or advertiser users when a feed fails — monitoring is handled at the Lucit infrastructure level.
What Happens When a Data Feed Fails¶
Lucit is designed to degrade gracefully when a data source is unavailable. The key behavior is:
- Creatives sourced from the failing feed become ineligible to run
- Other eligible creatives in the same campaign continue running normally
- If no creatives remain eligible, the default/fallback creative is displayed automatically
This ensures screens always display valid content — even during a feed outage — and that advertisers never see broken or error-state ads on their screens.
Setting Up Your Fallback Creative¶
Every campaign and account should have a default creative configured to handle this scenario:
Account-level default:
- Navigate to Settings → Default Fallback Creative
Campaign-level default (overrides account-level):
- Navigate to Campaigns → {Campaign} → {3-Dots Icon} → Settings → Default Creative Item
See Dynamic Feed Error Handling for full details on fallback behavior and setup guidance.
