How to Create a Campaign in Lucit

Overview

This guide explains what campaigns are in Lucit, the two campaign types you can create, and how to use the Create Campaign dialog to attach screens using manual selection, campaign copy, or CSV import.

General Notes

What is a campaign?

A campaign is a container for screens and creatives that you can then schedule in your CMS or digital player system.

What are the types of campaigns?

Lucit supports two campaign types:

  1. Campaign - A standard campaign that contains creatives. (Default, most common action)
  2. Group Campaign - A parent campaign that contains other campaigns (not individual creatives).

Campaigns are the most common action - And these will contain your creatives.

Group Campaigns are useful when you want to first create multiple standard campaigns, then schedule those campaigns together as a group. Group Campaigns only contain other campaigns below them.

How to Create a Campaign

From your Account profile:

  • Create a standard campaign: Campaigns -> {3-Dots Icon} -> ADD CAMPAIGN
  • Create a group campaign: Campaigns -> {3-Dots Icon} -> ADD GROUP CAMPAIGN

What Is on the Create New Campaign Dialog?

When the dialog opens, you can configure:

Campaign Name

  • Enter a custom name, or
  • Leave it blank and Lucit will automatically generate a name for you.

Screen Selection Tabs

The dialog provides three ways to add screens:

  1. CHOOSE SCREENS Select screens individually for your campaign from one or more operators.

  2. COPY FROM CAMPAIGN If your account already has campaigns, you can copy screen assignments from one of those campaigns.

  3. IMPORT SCREENS Paste a list of screens or upload a CSV file, then map your fields to Lucit fields.

This option is especially useful when you exported screens from another campaign and want to reuse that list.

Import Screens with CSV (Basic Steps)

  1. Upload your CSV file in the IMPORT SCREENS tab.
  2. In Header Mapping, map your file columns to Lucit fields using one of these required mapping options:
  3. Lucit Screen Id
  4. Media Owner Name + Media Owner Screen Id
  5. Media Owner ID + Media Owner Screen Id
  6. Click Process Screen Data and confirm all screens are recognized.
  7. Click Next to create the new campaign.

When would I want to use Group Campaigns?

Group campaigns allow you to build advanced and custom scheduling of groups of creatives in a single batch. For instance

  • Create multiple campaigns for each month of the year, load them with multiple creatives, and then schedule those monthly campaigns within a group campaign to only run during their specified months (with date limitations)
  • Create multiple campaigns, each targeted at a specific set of screens. Then, in the Group campaign, target them using the screen filtering capabilities
  • Create a bunch of campaigns that contain creatives that are all bound to a specific set of custom filters or triggers. Then apply those triggers to the campaign in the Group Campaig
  • Creative complex trees of campaigns

Example grouping setup with multiple levels:

Group Campaign A
|- Sub Group Campaign X
| |- Sub Campaign 1
| `- Sub Campaign 2
`- Sub Group Campaign Y
   |- Sub Campaign 3
   `- Sub Campaign 4

Group Campaign B
`- Sub Group Campaign Z
   `- Sub Campaign 5

At each level you may apply date time triggers, custom filters/triggers and custom screen id selections

Tips

  • Use COPY FROM CAMPAIGN when you are creating a variant campaign on the same screen set.
  • Use IMPORT SCREENS for larger migrations or repeatable workflows from exported screen lists.
  • Use Group Campaigns when your scheduler or player workflow is easier to manage by campaign sets.
